It was satisfying to revisit AOL as I haven't done anything with
  it in a very long time. Facebook replaced it a long time ago.
  Yet I knew they were still active; there's two million dial-up
  users that they support along with many many loyal users who are
  using broadband, and even though I don't need it for anything
  but nostalgia at this point, I'm just really impressed that they
  keep at least minimal support going for older versions. Version
  6 working really surprised me; Of course it's a shadow of its
  former self as the world has moved on - yet it's still going.
  Seeing people hanging around in the chat rooms kinda made me
  feel good - an old tradition from the early days of online still
  continues for some people.
