the baby in the brain. Trivia: When they first started taking
apart of the human head in the 1600s, they noticed the shapes of
the brain looked shockingly like other human body parts,
especially the female reproductive system, but also the mouth
and throat and other parts.
If you look at various drawings of the brain, you can see them
yourself.
So, somewhere in the 1600s (or maybe it was early 1700s, but NOT
the 1800s) - the words:
Conceive a thought, Give Birth to an Idea, Concepts... and other
words that relate thinking to giving birth came into the English
language.
Yet, we weren't the first! In the Bible, there's a Psalm - Psalm
137:
"Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them
against the rocks."
Sounds gross right? But the meaning had _nothing_ to do with
killing real children. Even back 2500 years ago, likely because
*they* had taken apart people's heads and saw what was inside,
_also_ saw "thoughts" as "babies" [because the brain has parts
that look like a womb).
People have been screwing up that line for thousands of years
but those who studied theology back then, throughout time and
today, know that the "babies" are "wicked thoughts" and "dash
against the rocks" means "destroy evil thoughts before they have
a chance to grow too big".
