I'm with ya there. it's hard to get rid of that one, and _so
  many_ very wonderfully written, seemingly logical/rational
  things have been written through the years saying, "the brain is
  like a computer"... and it drives me nuts.

  The brain came first.
  The computer came second.

  The computer was loosely based on an understanding of the brain.
  The brain is the brain.
  The computer is the computer.

  If ANYTHING, the computer is like the brain. But... when I hear
  it the other way... and then all of these elaborate theories
  based on an analogy that has the order _backwards_... I just
  wanna shoot someone, but there's too many targets tongue
  emoticon

  So, I murmur and complain when I can smile emoticon
