In short, [probably digressing entirely from the OP - I'm not
  sure - too lazy to look] - movements with a religious devotion
  of "HERE'S THIS AWESOME THING!" beats out any efforts that are
  top down and structured, especially when it's something Good.
  Bad may travel faster, but good manages to overcome, because bad
  is afraid and good is fearless I believe that large amounts of
  people without a particular agenda except,"Wow - hey, this is
  neat" - and sharing with friends, has an extraordinary power.

  Such is the tale I tell myself anyway. And as far as
  mythological constructs go, I like it. smile emoticon
