We're *not* about to create machines smarter than us. The hubris
  is us believing that we know enough about "what makes
  intelligence?" that we *can*.

  I heard this stuff in the 80s too.
  I heard this stuff in the 90s too.
  I heard this stuff in the 00s too.
  I head this stuff in the 10s too.
  I'll hear about it in the 20s too.
  I'll hear about it in the 30s too.
  I'll hear about it in the 40s too.
  I'll hear about it in the 50s too.
  and if I'm lucky, I'll hear about it in the 60s too, but not
  likely.

  Then I'll be dead.

  And they'll be no AI takeover.

  Have a fallout shelter for the latest "The Bomb" if you like
  James; I believe in Preparedness for disaster. But Hurricanes
  are a more real disaster. People behaving strangely because THEY
  BELIEVE disaster is coming and don't handle it properly, are
  more dangerous.

  I don't worry about something that can be unplugged.
