Psychologists don't like Psychiatrists tongue emoticon But yes,
I don't like the stigmatization of people based on faddish
behavioral "illnesses" created to suit the desires of a society.
I'm listening to the 2nd talk now - the first one was out of the
park awesomeness. When used correctly, such labels _can_ help
kids get themselves out of heaps of trouble though. "He has
ADHD" - "oh". "Sorry I did [x] I have ADHD". "oh, OK!" So at
least the kids with the diagnosis make the best of it to
navigate the ridiculously complicated world of childhood...
which is more ridiculously complicated than adulthood, as future
prisoners, rapists, murderers, politicians and even a few
desirable people, are going to schools right now in the general
population. But I have strong opinions about education as it
stands, so I'll resist a rant. tongue emoticon
