It's best NOT to respond to them if you're not interested based
solely on their stated age and appearance.
You'll feed into their fantasy. Some of them feed off of
rejection. Think about that.
If you're on a dating site, doesn't matter what you request.
After you're 21, you're fair-game from age 21-death and any age
inbetween.
Join the meat market and you're gonna get a lot of dried out
beef.
If they're contact you on that network, you're on the wrong
network. I know it matters.
I'm not saying things SHOULD be that way.
I'm just saying that they ARE that way.
I wish it could change. I also don't date for that reason. I've
been treated like an object, judged by my income, hairstyle,
clothing, where I live, what car I drive. I know how it feels.
They *should* respect it but they won't. I'll use myself as an
example:
My nephew is 10.
I'm 43 years old.
I'm ancient to him. I expect that. To my older brother and his
generation, I'm "just a kid".
Now he has an aunt who is 22 years old.
She thinks she's modern. To her, she's 2015. But she's not.
She's 2005... and it shows. But she can't see it. My nephew sees
it because he's 10 and is with the new generation. I see it
because I've always noticed changing fads and fashions.
So, it's all relative. He may be old to you, but you may be old
to someone who is younger. Just how it is - not a bad thing.
Hope you don't think I'm being mean; age is just one of those
weird things about life I know you're not doing this; so I don't
mean it for this situation in particular; you have a right to
date whatever age you like and people _should_ respect your
wishes. But in the dating game, you'll always have to fight.
I made this graphic a while back to explain ageism. What you're
doing isn't "ageist"; I'm not trying to imply that... just
illustrating something that we often don't think much about. Oh,
I'm not saying it's ageism in this case. She has a right to
declare her wishes.
The fact that other people don't RESPECT those wishes is
rudeness.
It's not rude to ask. It's rude to not respect it. I agree with
that.
I'm just saying _why_ that is. I'm not implying anybody is
stupid. I haven't met a stupid person yet. I don't think they're
stupid. I think THEY believe they're God's gift to women. That's
not stupid, just being narcissistic. Everybody suffers from a
little tinge of that. I don't date but I mock myself openly to
keep myself humble. I'm as narcissistic as the next person so I
figured, why not run with it?
They came out with a new Earth Flag a few days ago. Made the
news. So I figured, hey, if there's going to be a new Earth
Flag, I might as well assign myself as President of Planet
Earth. I'm the right age for Presidency, I have no political
aspirations and really I don't take myself seriously at all.

I even came up with an Earth Theme Song. If I'm going to play
with my Narcissistic side, might as well go all the way. After
all, don't we all express our opinions as if the whole Planet
should listen to our opinions? tongue emoticon
