lol I'm lucky in that regard because I've enjoyed every bit of
  pop culture, once that guy shot himself and the world cried. But
  I didn't like whiny music, although some people love it and
  that's fine too.

  It was Gangsta rap in the mid 90s that got me back on track...
  and the pop stuff like Scatman, that "I'm blue" song... and all
  that. FINALLY music was interesting again.

  I loved Dubstep when it came out and it's gotten better, I enjoy
  the new musical patterns you hear everywhere, the rising notes
  going faster and faster, then the moment of silence, the
  'SOMETHING MEMORABLE" phrase, and then the kooky drummy bit
  after it.

  Used everywhere, love that pattern. I also love that people make
  their own music now and distribute it freely. It's a better
  world for music.
