Yeah, the Jesus complex unfortunately seems an effective method
for a message, but honestly, not worth it to me.* Wars come and
go; a little land grabbing, a little ideology pushing, then it
flows back again, or sometimes it doesn't. Yet, I'm still here.
That's the part that makes it all worth while, and what keeps me
from nihilism. I'm still here. I don't know where i heard the
expression, I think it was Doctor Who as a kid.* There was one
episode where they said, "Where there's life, there's...."* and
then the person (might have been the Doctor) died / regenerated
/ whatever. and I remember being mystified by that.* WHAT WAS
THE LAST WORD?! And it was years and years later that I heard
the phrase used in full somewhere.* Then it all made sense. I
can't fix the world entirely. Certainly not in one fell swoop.*
Too much history to overcome.* Too many people.* Each person has
potentialities and choices and patterns and lives that I
couldn't possibly even hope to influence much in the tiniest
degree. And yet... I can do some things. Help some people. Help
myself. How? I'm still here. It's about as powerful of a
statement I could ever hope to make in this life. I'm still
here.
