I was always invited to play as a teenager and young adult. All
my friends played. I wanted to play yet I didn't. They couldn't
understand why. But it's all they talked about and I was more of
a computer nerd. I couldn't get 'into it' in the way they did
but I knew if I started, I'd be hooked because it looked like a
  *lot of fun*.

I always had a 'sense' when I was about to get 'hooked' on
something and .. well... it tends to take me over completely for
  a time.

I *did* have a chance to beta test Neverwinter Nights on AOL in
1992/1993, which I did for about a year 'til it was released. I
did really well too because, even though I never sat down and
rolled the dice, I heard my friends talking about it for a
  decade already.

And yes, it was a lot of fun.
