You're not alone. I made a comment on a VSauce video, praising
the amazing him and people like him are at educating people in
ways that schools entirely miss. In my 27 years online, I never
got 3500 likes on a comment, and hundreds of enthusiastic
responses from kids as young as 8 and adults of any age

The responses from the late elementary/middle school kids to my
comment gave me the most hope for the future. As they are the
bulk of Vsauce viewership, they of course were most likely to
respond; it's part of their society.

They have a LOT MORE YEARS to suffer through school, but they're
supplementing their *own* educations, despite where they find
themselves, and I really look forward to what their generation
comes up with when they get old enough to be in Power and I'm
white haired. GenZ will quietly change everything for the better
as they're collectively exposed to non-isolated communities and
outside of the direct controlling influence of
  family/school/community.

Youtube may have a lot of crap but the good stuff is there, and
mixtures of poop and philosophy are absolutely perfect - not as
a full replacement for school perhaps, but close.
