'll be 43 in about 2 weeks. Through the years, an uncountable
amount of people have asked me, "KEN, WHEN ARE YOU GETTING A
  TATTOO?"

I reply the same way: "When I find a symbol I am willing to die
  with on me."

They hate that answer, but it's true. I'm not adverse to
tattoos; they are a marvelous form of self-expression; I even
got my niece's father into tattooing by buying parts at radio
shack to help him make a homemade tattoo gun years back [my only
tattoo - he tested my contraption on my ankle bone, before
knowing that you just don't do that - some kind of microscopic
cross at the time less than a 1/4 of an inch that thankfully
faded after 3 years) - but it worked. He took my confidence in
him with him and has been working in tattoo parlors for the past
  20 years.

  But anyway...

I'm still searching for "that symbol". When i find it, I'll do
much as you did, because I'll no longer be able to say, "When I
find a symbol I'm willing to die with" when asked. I'll be
treated to a free tattoo by enthusiastic people who will enjoy
every grimace I make, but I'll do it.
