I believe that some kind of deep training towards gaining some
sort of comprehension of potentially deeper truths of some kinds
is helpful psychologically and assists in everyday annoyances
NOT taking over the emotional state, hijacking it and lording
over the reason like a big bully. Sarah McCloughlin's "Arms of
an Angel" dog commercial was a great recent example. I don't go
for hyperbole or emotional manipulation attempts or excessive
dependence upon a single methodology for attainment of truth.
That's 'cause, well, I haven't figured out fully what to call
mine yet. But that being said, even when it has flaws, attempts
at attaining truth that's useful in deciphering the crytographic
encoded world we're in (social rules, how to deal with other
people, how to deal with the self, etc), isn't all bad and
  mostly useful.
