Well, here's the thing though: If we were *all* blind, would the
  objective model be true? Or be true for us - and we may call it
  objective - yet the elephant may turn out to be something
  entirely different, for no matter how well we study it, we still
  won't be able to tell you everything; and could easily miss
  something important because we don't have the tools of
  discovery. We know what we know but we don't know what we don't
  know. I've seen it extended out to "can't know" but I think that
  kind of finality is an unnecessary extension. Also, I think that
  sometimes we can mix up "What is True?" with "What is better to
  teach as True?" and with "What can be treated as if True as it
  serves a function we consider to be important while not
  necessarily considering it True?"
