I love this way of looking at humanity. This makes me curious
about the nation of China; Way back in Sociology class, they
taught us that Western cultures tend to think of people as
individuals, but in Eastern cultures they tend to think in terms
of "the whole"; that yes, you're you but more importantly you
are a part of a collective whole; part of a nation, a family,
and what you do can help or hurt everybody.* But while there is
a "you" - there's more of an "us" - like the worker-bee idea.
Influence.* That's a topic I've thought a lot about.* I've
noticed how just a few words spoken to a person at the right
time can change them forever.* I remember a few people in my own
past that said a single sentence that changed me, moved me in a
different path; and I've been lucky enough to hear that from
people who said I had helped them - often years later, after I
had long forgotten about it (or didn't even know I was making a
difference). I believe that I am strong; but I am strong because
of my friends; because of the people that I love and care about,
like you, like my friends on G+, Facebook, Vine,* They change me
in ways I'd never have expected and apparently, I sometimes have
an effect too.* And it's as if friendships are organisms in
themselves; something we're a part of and it's a part of us...
