I live for the "woah" moments; where I can see the place where
two things become one yet remain separate; or three things
become two - or one - often involving a dance of higher
dimensions; and it tickles my brain and I smile at those
moments. I find my biological limitations more and more funny;
and my social awkwardness - which I used to always curse myself
about - I now see gives me the ability to see the whole thing as
a system that I'm *not* outside of, but very much indeed inside
of - while also remaining separate; and it helps me see that
that "here but not" feeling *is*, in fact a Universal one... one
that we, as a species I believe, so desperately try to switch
off; and we spend a lot of time pretending... without actually
really connecting with anybody in the process. We are of the
same level; I like engaging with Intellectuals (especially those
of the New Atheism movement (who don't even realize they're in a
movement; followers of Richard Dawkins who don't even REALIZE
they're followers of Richard Dawkins) - and who can't see that
they're just Fundamentalist Christians wearing "I'm Rational,
You're Not" Capes on their backs -no matter what their original
religious backgrounds were... I did a 'Science is a Religion"
thread once to "tease them out"; and out they came. I didn't
know they were "New Atheist" at the time; but a lot of my
friends are of that mindset; and I enjoy their higher
intelligence, but when I see them engage in debates it can
get... tiresome as they go in circles. But now that I understand
them more; and know enough of what they're about to at least
help them see that they're a part of something greater; a
context they weren't aware of before. Belief is a very powerful
thing; people who truly lack conviction, due to brain injury,
are the most rational of all; they are entirely logical and can
never decide anything, as there is no emotional "push" to bring
them over to a "true" or a "false"; a "this is right" or "this
is wrong"; and is very eye opening to see how we are emotional
beings primarily, no matter how logical we claim to be; it is
the emotions that allow the logic to function and the two can
not be divorced without losing them both.
