  2500 years ago, Plato came up with this idea.
  2500 years later, neuroscience shows that the amygdala feeds our
  rational side. Those with broken amygdalas are forever in a
  process of weighing things out logically, taking months to make
  simple conclusions. Why? Because their belief-system; that extra
  emotional *push* by the Amygdala doesn't lock it into place,
  telling you, "I KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE".

  Are there objective truths? Heck if I know. It's your brain. Use
  it how you like. I just know we have beliefs. It all starts from
  there. What you do with those beliefs is up to you.^
