^After being effectively 98% deaf for almost two weeks, (already
nearly deaf in one ear, and my good ear wax sealed shut), being
gentle with cleaning and just working around it (5 drops of 91%
rubbing alcohol to make sure it stayed dry in there, some olive
oil to soften it, occasional peroxide), I finally got sick of
being earwax deaf and babying it.

So, I got the hottest tap water I could find, a little drop of
peroxide, and just squirted it like crazy in there with the ear
bulb (that weird blue thing that looks like a giant rubber
teardrop. If you don't have one, it's oddly useful.

Anyway, after two or three vigorous squirts with the hot tap
water+peroxide, victory! I followed it up with 5 drops of
alcohol just to make sure it dried.

And my God, everything is freakin' LOUD now. I could hear my
  fingers touching things!

So there you have it. I could have done it two weeks ago, but
last time I was aggressive with it, it hurt, I didn't dry it,
and it just wasn't a good thing.

Now, I know what works (for me at least) And I'm sharing it with
you. And there you have it.^
