+Erik Beyer Paulsen Belief that evidence proves something is
still belief. I'm not knocking science - I'm just saying that,
fundamentally, it's a belief system that happens to be very
useful in explaining things as they currently are. It's a
religion. It plays in the same playing field; it argues with
other religions about its truth. Not all systems of knowledge
depend on declaring whether something is true or not.
Engineering, for example, does what WORKS, not necessarily what
there are theories about. Science and religion are both about
Universal theories that stand the test of time. They bicker and
fight a lot. They're in the same category.
