^History from the perspective of materials engineering. It is
  the most humble view of history I've ever seen, as the dates
  really don't matter all that much but rather it's saying
  "Thanks" to all the people who came before and figured that
  stuff out, so they don't have to. I get the impression that
  anybody who works in Materials can equally imagine themselves
  hammering out a copper bowl or being there as they figure out
  how to make steel for the first time. I like it.^
