We're taught that people were generally stupid until the 16th
Century or so. But Michaelangelo was taught in a school in Italy
run by expatriot Greeks who STILL HAD all the ancient Greek
philosophers and knowledge - they never lost it. They just
couldn't build any more because of the Ottoman empire. So they
taught the dumb Western Europeans who were like, "woah, cool,
mind=blown - I'm gonna draw a helicopter now :P " "
