It is common to see people giving advice about ''cutting people
out of your life''. And while this is healthy surgery in many
cases, especially when dealing with toxic personalities - when
you are segregating you and those who agree with you apart from
what you consider whole ''groups'' of people - you make your
world very very small. This happens a lot in high schools when
stereotyping is at its worst. Thankfully most people grow out of
MOST stereotyping after high school. If you're out of school,
when is the last time you heard someone be called ''a jock?'' or
a ''loser''? Those labels mostly disappear. (yeah, I research
trends - been doing that my whole life - just for fun. Just call
me a geek or a nerd or a know-it-all or a bore: I've always been
  proud of those labels)
