The difference between a story that is true or a story that is
  fabricated comes down to belief. All stories are fabricated
  combinations of words that a person speaks. It's up to the
  listener to decide: Truth or fiction?

  One good rule of thumb, which holds true for most storytelling:
  The more the storyteller tries to get you emotionally engaged,
  Feeling bad, or guilty, or sorry, or angry or excited or happy -
  the more likely that it is a lie. Marketers use that all of the
  time. ''When you care enough to send the very best.'' is the
  best use of Guilt in Marketing any company has ever done for
  example.
