Fiber is one of those tricky things. There's never a "one stop
  solution" for all medical issues : For example - I'm a big
  believer in Olive Oil - the old fashioned, basic no-flavor style
  can be used for nearly everything - the food equivilant of
  Mineral Oil. But - not everybody can have oil or fat. Or fiber -
  it's good for some people and for some people fiber is the worst
  thing. Or even salads - great for many but if you have a bad
  kidney stone problem, you have to be careful not to have too
  many greens (although it's hard to overdose on greens unless you
  eat 2 cans of spinach a day)... so yeah, in the end, everybody's
  different. "
