Keeping a piece of paper in your home is not permanence.* It's
personal archival.   But distributed - via books for example,
and the copying of it, is what keeps something alive.   What
differs from books and online, is books are saved locally at
your home.* But web pages, even e-mail, are stored somewhere
else.   This lack of ownership is troubling.* Go back to a
website, and it's gone.   Is anyone doing a printed archive of
  websites?
