A minority can be 49% and since we all have many interests, as human beings, we are going to be in the minority about something.
Politically we are forced to make choices we don't want to comply with and are forced to compromise our values. My questions is, then: what ever happened to honor? If someone stands for something they believe in we would respect them, but we don't anymore, like our forefathers did. Is honor, then, another casualty of the media industrial age?
More importantly what happens to our society if people give up their honor? Sure people pretend to have honor, but they are constrained by a system where they are sometimes a minority. Just witness the 'backlash' when someone takes an opposing view. There is no honor, just vitriol evidenced in the tone and actions of the majority.
At the turn of the last century people were judged by their handwriting. Well formed, handsome or beautiful handwriting indicated good character. Also during that age, with a similar intensity, people's word would be their bond. With biblical roots, someone would honor what they said and stand by their word.
