Let me explain something to you about customer service.  There's this famous case where a woman inherited two and half million dollars.  She started gambling at the casinos.  Eventually she wound up spending most of her money at one or two casinos that would send her birthday cards, give here free room, drink.  At one casino, in a weekend period, I believe the news story reported, she lost two hundred thousand dollars.  But the casinos kept giving here all the customer service in the world.  One even tracked her down at here house and sent here gifts and presents.
Oh sure, the woman new they were being nice to her because she was a customer.  Then she lost all here money.  One of the casinos gave her credit.  She went through that, and then they repossessed here house.  I doubt if they send her birthday cards anymore.
Customer service is strictly a face companies put on to get your money.  The customer who complains because an employee was rude to her, is falling right into the trap of customer service.  Companies could care less if your alive or dead as long as you have money to spend and all the while they rub their employees nose in the ground to make them give you customer service.
I'm reminded of the time I bought paint in a New York hardware store.  The proprietor was the meanest, rudest clerk I ever met, but he knew his business.  I needed to buy the right paint quick, with the right primer, and this store owner knew more about paint than I'll ever figure out.  The job came out better than I ever expected.  No customer service and I suspect over the years the community knows this proprietor and have also learned to respect his no-nonsense expertise.
