Lesson of Time
by
Ken Bushnell

"I can't see it," the effervescent being said to its teacher.  "I can
see what they wrote in the book, but not on the lighted devices," he
stated quizzically.
"Here," the teacher pointed with patience.  "Adjust the time stream.
You have to be looking straight onto the devices display, from the
perspective of the person in front of it writing, which is sometimes
difficult.  I have found that they have very little of importance to write
and that it is rarely worth the time to examine what they wrote down on
the device.   This is the generation of distraction and trinkets.  Look
farther back in the time stream, to their forefathers, who wrote
everything on tablet or paper because people then had more time and
patience to develop their thoughts."
"Why must we study these histories?"  The student being once again
asked.
"Mankind had gone through a tumultuous period where the devastation
and destruction was unimaginable.  Humankind left to their devices
eventually destroys themselves and each other.  The Great Father had to
train humankind, down to the level of their dna, to learn these lessons.
He could not just show them once, because the next generation would soon
forget the lessons and then mankind would destroy itself once again.  He
had to make these lessons permanent, once, for all time, so we could look
back and remember the horrible lessons we had to learn that taught us to
love one another and live in peace.  There would be no hope for mankind if
it had not been for the Great Father's lessons.  So we must study them and
remind ourselves of our humble position in the hierarchy of things.  We
are but one of many, and pride and arrogance will only destroy.  The time
stream teaches us the lessons our forefathers learned and sealed in our
dna.  Now watch the time stream and pay attention to ones who were kind to
each other."
The teacher wanted to say more, but knew the student must absorb the
lesson on their own.  He could only direct the student and he knew it
would be easy because of the sacrifices our forefathers had made in those
tumultuous times.
