My Utopia

In my utopia everyone makes their own alcohol fuel.
There are stills on the market that claim 1.5 gallons an
hour can be distilled using a 55 gal drum.  It's hard
work but everyone's kept busy.
In this utopia people use this fuel for generating
their own electricity when needed.  The fuel is used for
cooking, heating and transportation as needed.  We are
far more aware of the cost of energy when we produce it
ourselves so wasting hot water and extravagant trips
would be avoided, for example.
In utopia everyone grows their own food.  It's very
hard work, but everyone's kept busy.  They also don't
spend time commuting and selling their sovereign rights
to an employer and separating themselves from family and
community.
In utopia all roads are 25 mph and horse drawn carts
are not uncommon.  Dog drawn carts are seen occasionally.
In utopia there would be no television.  There would
be no internet.  Everyone would be happy with the limited
amount of information they have and they would study it,
they would comprehend it thoroughly.  Memory work would
be a major part of each day.
In utopia we would use wood, dung or coal to heat
with and it would be managed more efficiently being used
along side alcohol.  I would much rather have smoke than
nuclear radiation or chemical by products of industry.
Think about it.  Giant corporations manage our energy
needs with greed and disregard for the human condition.
This energy consortium, mostly based on petroleum, has a
profound influence in government regulations, possibly
with the intent to restrict individuals from weening
themselves from their control over our energy consumption
and prohibiting individuals from producing their own
energy.
In a utopia this difficult people would have less
children either by choice or as our forefathers did, by
nature.  Life is tough.  Turn its control over to
government and corporations and you have inhumanity,
cruelty and forced customer service.  Keep possession of
our own lives and we have struggles that are difficult
but create character and pride.  In a utopia this real,
people would know what's right and what's wrong, what's
real and what's not real, what's important and what is
not important.  The price we would pay for this honest
hard working life style would not be cheap.
In this utopia cities would be illegal.
Corporations would not exist.  Government would only
exist to punish transgressors on someone elses time,
work, or personage without permission.  Title to property
would not exist because possession would only be achieved
with the work someone puts into a place.
This utopia would require a monarchy with morals and
values shared by everyone achieving respect not by force,
but by goodwill.  Humanity, of course, is not capable of
such a government and not capable of such a human
condition.  That is why utopia is only a dream.
