The Quality of Life
I enjoy life more when I can live infinitely cheap,
that is, except for taxes and bureaucratic fees.  So
now I have to get a job to make enough to give the
bureaucrats their due.  Thus I can no longer live cheap
because I no longer have the time to stretch resources
and rebuild what I use.
It quickly gets to the point where it's easier to
spend money than to save it justified by the quality of
life.  It becomes easier to buy a meal than prepare
one.  It gets easier to buy new clothes than to mend
them.  And while we're at the store we see things that
will make our life easier and we justify the expense
because it saves time and bolsters our psyche so we can
be more efficient with our time at home and at work.
All too soon, living gets too expensive and we don't
enjoy any of it.
