Energy Monopolies

What amazes me is that people so readily accept
energy monopoly.  We are so easily convinced that energy
production must be centralized therefor turning over
control to corporate oligarchies who are polluting the
water and evicting us from the land.
Our forefathers used to make all their own fuel.
We could be energy independent if we lived on farms and
produced our own alcohol fuel, of course that would have
been before the world population grew to 100 plus people
per square mile with their dependence on farm mass
production and energy consolidation.  It's like rabbits
in a bin.  If you put a pair of rabbits in a six foot
square by six foot deep pen, and keep throwing in food,
you'll soon have rabbits overflowing the sides of the
pen.  With no predators and free food all they can do is
breed.
We would not need anywhere near the amounts of
energy we're dependent upon if we had to produce our own.
We'd find ways to save energy boiling water, a big energy
consumer.  We'd plan our trips into town to buy our
supplies and stock up so we would reduce the number of
trips we made.  We'd be more engaged in daily chores with
less time to consume media and travel while being more
content.  Not to mention the innovations and creative
ways people can come up with to manage their resources.
There's not only alcohol.  Cow manure is dried in one
culture where cows provide the milk and the fuel for
their fires throughout the winter.  There's wood.  Over
50% of the World's population relies on wood heat.
Coal, even though polluting, could probably be tamed by
ingenuity of the people if they had a chance to use it.
Our forefathers have used wind and water to perform
chores that we so easily flip a switch on to do today.
