Communication is context. Do we need to describe the
subatomic process to communicate how to use a keyboard?
In fact even the word keyboard is relative. Are we
talking about a type writer keyboard or the keyboard to
program a generator facility? We take the physics and
even the mechanics for granted when we describe something
to someone. It's oddly relative.
What it does is show us how vulnerable the communication
process is. Without a natural regard for context it could
drive us crazy. We know we're talking about using the
brake foot pedal when we say stop a car. The alternative
could be a major communication break down.
Context is part of our culture, our values, our norms.
Take those away and you have to relearn context, pretty
quick sometimes. A cultural clash can be catastrophic.
Learning the language is one thing. Learning the context
is another.
