Where I work, we have the choice between using Red
Hat Linux (RHEL), Windows or Apple as our Workstation.
I chose RHEL.
This is a rather nice Linux, and I survived the move to
systemd :)
Again not much to say, I use to use Fluxbox until RHEL
(v8) and some proprietary applications started depending
upon GNOME3. So now seems you have no choice but to
use GNOME3. If I used Fluxbox or another WM, either RHEL
would loose keyboard focus or a proprietary application
would crash.
GNOME3 is not bad and I can deal with it without issues,
but I would rather use another window manager.
With v9 of RHEL, the Company told people who are using
RHEL v8 will need to move to either Fedora or Ubuntu.
This has to do with Video Playing applications, seems RHEL
9 will not support proprietary video. Not looking forward
to that.
