More on social networks
=======================

As I  wrote here last  time, I deleted  my Mastodon account.  Some nice
people [1] have invited me to try the twtxt [2]. But I am not sure if I
actually  want  to  join  an  another  such  network.  Even  if  it  is
decentralized and far from overcrowded.

I will probably try to keep my twtxt.txt [3] file updated for some time
and will see how the things are  going. I already have tried to use the
curl(1) for downloading  people's updates. But I am not  going to do to
register  to  any  "social  network"  site  whatever  it  is  easy  and
decentralized. Anyway I must say  that "tooting" by issuing the echo(1)
is something I have started to like nice:

echo -e "$(gdate -Is)\How a great way to send updates!" >> ~/html/twtxt.tx

I am still thinking about other stuff.  I after a perido of 2018-2020 I
have started to use  my Flickr account once more. It  still seems to be
the place where people (non-IT and non-geek ones) expect my pictures.

I have tried the SDF gallery  but it's relatively old and ugly software
and seems to be unpopular. And I have strong feeling that pictures save
here  don't  look  right -  it  may  be  some  sort of  compression  or
something. I thought that  this gallery would be of good  use for me as
it was once accessible form my SGI  O2 but after some time (SL update?)
it is no longer the case.

I don't want  to use the Instagram/Pixelfed stuff. Actually  I have and
account on  both but it  is sort of  "read only" use  - I follow  a few
people who  tend to  announce new stuff  (usually pictures,  of course)
here.
