On Indigo again
===============
I am running my Silicon Graphics IRIS Indigo R3000 once again. There
was some failure in the past so today it is a sort of test.
I have opened the Bongusta in the Netscape 3.0 and I'm reading the
phlogs now. I have been doing this from my main machine in rather
regular fashion but - for some reasons - I feel better when I am
reading the Gopher on the SGI.
I also have been running some of my new Octave scripts which have
written in the time when the Indigo was not in use (this old
workstation runs the GNU Octave 2.0 so some thing often have to be
changed to run modern Octave - or even Matlab - scripts here).
I also have started to convert one of these scripts to the BBC BASIC
syntax. This will need some time as the BASIC is not that good for math
operations but I want to be able to run this particular thing not only
on the Cambridge Z88 but also on my PDP-11 (with use of the modern
PDP-11 port of the BBC Basic [1]).
It's pretty refreshing to use something like an old good UNIX
workstation instead of all that modern stuff I have to run every day...
