MC600 + Org2
============

I have trying to use my PSION  MC600 laptop with my PSION Organiser II.
The MC600 has a  regular serial port and it runs MD-DOS  3 so it should
be possible to connect it to the Organiser II.

But  as   a  first  step  I   have  tried  to  run   PSION  development
environment/emulator tool [1] on the  MC600. This software is small (do
you remember that the MC600 has no HDD, just only 1 MB of RAM drive and
a set of PSION SSD slots?) and it runs under the DOS. It also perfectly
runs  in the  DOSbox. Even  on a  SGI  O2 (with  its 250  MHz CPU)  the
software  is vast  even  in the  DOSbox (remember  that  DOSbox has  to
emulate not only the  DOS but also the x86 CPU).  Anyway, the MC600 has
the  80186 CPU  at 4.77MHz  (and 8MHz  in the  "turbo" mode)  so I  was
curious how it will run.

And it runs  well. Emulated execution and compilation  of pseudocode is
still faster than on the real thing.  And the screen is bigger. I wrote
one small (working!) program on the MC600 yesterday.

The next step is to transfer the written program to the Organiser II...

P.S. I must confess  that I still use my Palm (the  TRGpro) as a pocket
computer, not the PSION. ;-)
