Just have got an Ortek Technology Inc. Portable Keyboard for Palm m5xx
devices. [1]
It might made little sense to use a keyboard which already has one
build-in. But the bigger keyboard the better. This one is a keyboard
with 5 lines of keys (so there is the top one with numbers is here,
too). Unlike the Stowaway keyboards this one is not foldable. It is
much smaller than desktop one and has a hardshell protective cover
(which also serves as a stand for the Palm) The keys are smaller than
keys of desktop keyboard. Height is about 2/3 of normal height and with
is smaller, too. The whole "qwertyuiop" is about of 10 mm narrower than
normally.
This make use of this keyboard somewhat less comfortable. The keys are
very soft which also does not make writing easier.
But in general it is much more comfortable to write texts on this
keyboard than on the build-in one (and it is also much better than
using of the Graffiti).
There are dedicated keys for duplication of Palm's hardware buttons
(the Apps, Menu, Calc, Find, DateBook, Addressbook, ToDo, Memo) and
there are also shortcuts for common actions like New, Cancel, Done and
so.
That's a nice thing after all.
Well, the driver. It was supplied with the device on a 3.5" floppy.
Fortunately I still have a few USB floppy drives available. I will put
the file on my gopher.
