9V Rechargeables
================

The PSION Organiser II handheld computer (a sort of PDA from 1980s) has
one unusual feature. It uses  these brick-shaped 9V batteries (6LR61 or
so) instead of AAs or AAAs which  were used by other PDAs and handhelds
(even the later PSIONs  like the Series 3 and the Series  5 used the AA
batteries).

It actually is not as my Organiser  II LZ can survive more than year on
one (modern) alkaline Panasonic battery.

But I prefer to use rechargeable batteries where possible. It is not to
hard to find NiMH rechargeables (some Panasonic ones, they declare that
they should survive up to 1000 charging cycles) and they seems to work.
But  I was  unable  to find  a  proper charger.  Finally  a ended  with
something called  Voltcraft (or it was  Witchcraft?) universal charger.
It seems to work.

So I  put the rechargeable battery  into my Organiser II  (the XP model
which I  have pro playing) today  and will try to  measure battery life
under normal usage conditions. It will be  at least 2 months the I will
be very satisfied.
