BlackBird In Use 2
==================

Now  I am  playing with  cooling of  the BlackBird.  It is  possible to
archieve a cooler system with software but it has limits. So I tried to
update  my fans  setup. Now  I  have two  92mm  fans at  the front  and
the  rear  of the  case  (a  setup which  is  recommended  by the  case
manufacturer). Both  are 4-pin  (which is  strongly recommended  by the
BlackBird  manual, BTW).  The  result is  72~73  Celsius degrees  under
normal load.

It seems somewhat unfortunate that I selected the passive CPU heatsink.
Some web  searching and consultations  with another BlackBird  user [1]
have  led me  to  conclusion  that while  temperatures  in range  70~80
Celsius degrees are acceptable it is possible to reach more sustainable
temperatures about 50  degrees. But it seems to be  impossible with the
passive heatsink. So I ordered the bigger CPU heatsink with the fan. As
a temporary measure  I decided to add  3rd case fan which  is almost on
the top of  the current CPU heatsink.  It may be not  so ideal solution
but as a  result there is now  about 63 degrees on all  CPU cores under
normal load. Obviously I will not install the discrete GPU until I will
solve CPU temperatures...
