Blackbird Update 1
==================

Just saw on the Twitter:

-------------------------------
#Blackbird  update: we're  on target  for shipments  starting Q2  2019.
Still ironing  out a few software  side details (kernel level);  on the
hardware side, manufacture of the  first production batch of mainboards
is in progress!
-------------------------------

Their original  plan was  "End of  Q1 2019" but  it normal  because the
Blackbird is a  new product. It is  better to wait a bit  more than got
something that does not work.

For  those who  what is  the Blackbird [1]:  it's a  mainboard for  the IBM
POWER9 processors. It's  mATX and it can accomodate 1  4-core or 8-core
CPU.

Update: Cameron Kaiser covered this on  his Talospace blog [2]. He made
some interesting  points. For example,  I have not expected  that there
can be  issues with the build-in  HDMI (it's probably not  supported in
the Linux , yet).
