I use the ODROID XU-4 to browse the modern WWW, you know. It has small
fan which is noisy as you probably know.
The device has a pair of ARM CPUs. One can run on 2000 MHz and the
second on 1500 MHz. But they can be slowed down to something like 200
MHz. Then the fan is quiet.
But no one want to run Chromnium (or how that beast is called) on 200
MHz. The Lynx is fine on 200 MHz but I have better computers to browse
the Gopher. This one is for WWW.
So I'm starting the WWW Browser with the "taskset -c 0-3 chromnium" so
it runs on the slower CPU (the CPU is set to "ondemand"). The faster
CPU is set to run on 200 MHz.
The WWW browser is then still usable (it is not FAST even on 2GHz, by
the way) and the system is still usable. But it is almost quiet.
