BQ M10 OTA-7 Update
===================

There is  a new update for  my Ubuntu tablet available  (the OTA-7 from
the UBports [1]). My  BQ Aquaris M10 tablet was not  updated for a long
time so I wanted to update it.  But for some reasons the tablet refused
to update beond the OTA-04. I tried  almost everything but at the end I
decided o re-install the tablet.

There is of course a native installer  for a Linux desktop (and for the
Windows and  the macOS, too). But  the Linux one is  AMD64-only. As you
may know, I have  2 desktops: one is MIPS, the other is  ARM. So I have
to start my old x86_64 laptop, the Lenovo x61s. It sometimes works. And
it worked.

The good news  are that the Evernote connection now  works and that the
www  browser seems  to be  stable  (there are  some isues  named on  the
UBports page but I have not experienced any of these problems).

There are also  bad news: the Calendar application  not synchronise data
and the Mastodont client (uMastonauts) does  not work (it shows only an
empty white window).

Both issues can by solved by using  of on-line apps in the web browser.
But it makes use of the tablet less comfortable.

Anyway, I  am planning to use  the tablet to read  scientific books and
articles  in PDF.  I  am usually  taking notes  during  reading so  the
working Notes application (which can be synchronised with the Evernote)
is quite important.

P.S. I wrote  this text on a  Sharp Netwalker. It does  have a keyboard
but a strange one  - I would feel more comfortable with  a Palm and the
stylus. :-(
