That (not so) old MIPS
======================

Well, this time there will be no work about my daily driver (the SGI O2).

I realied that we have been using our MIPS machines quite often. My wife has
been using the Ainol Novo 7 tablet (it has 1 GHz MIPS-compatible CPU and 512 MB
of RAM and - of course - 7" screen) and I have started to use the Ben NanoNote
palmtop (with its 332 MHz CPU and 32 MB of RAM and the 3.5" screen).

The tablet is usefull for reading (e-books int the FBReader and PDFs with some
patience)  and for some simpler games during her daily train trips. I use the
NanoNote near exclusively as a music player (I travel by walk to my work).

The reasons for using these devices are simple: they are available, they
weren't expensive and they are good enough for their roles. I can possibly use
the NanoNote for much more but at the moment there is no need (I have a
workstation both in work and at the home). My wife can possibly use the tablet
for more tasks but she has no reason for doing that.
