Hello ladies and gents. I'm back, somewhat. My situation, for those who
read my note on my gophermap, is still being handled, but I believe that
I'm starting to feel comfortable posting on Gopher again. Right now I
just have to give that situation and that person time, and I'm keeping a
private journal on the side about it.

So in case it's unkown to the phlogosphere, I do indeed like to write
software. I'm really good at VB.Net and I've been learning Java (since
it's the only thing my school teaches as far as Computer Science goes).
I've dabbled in other programming languages and am currently interested
in C, because of its portability, and C++, because of its similarity to
Java (or rather Java's similarity to it) and its power as an
object-oriented language. Tbh I'm starting to see bits and pieces of why
I'm not the world's biggest fan of object oriented design, as it can get
bloated really quickly, but it's still easy as hell to design programs
using. Still I haven't gotten very far in anything other than VB.Net. And
honestly I'm just really fond of it because of how rapidly I can build a
program all on my own. The only frustration I have with it is since it is
winforms, it lacks cross-platform capabilities.

Anyway, since middle school in 2010/2011, I've been publishing my vb.net
programs online on a site http://telecom2.co.nr/. Currently the only two
programs on that site I'm particularly proud of are WriteSpace and
OverScanner. OverScanner I wrote last year whenever I was trying to play
a game on my laptop on an old CRT TV but the TV was not aligned perfectly
with the image my laptop was outputting. I needed to shift the image and
resize it, and as a result I decided to write my own program in order to
make that work. It took hours upon hours upon HOURS to get something that
actually did the job (and then realizing that I literally could have used
OBS's projector feature the entire time), but still. It was mine. All the
spaghetti code was mine. And WriteSpace I've been writing since 2011 or
2012 because I wanted to write my own distraction-free text editor for
Windows. And it makes me so happy that I finally now feel like I've
usurped the program that inspired me to write it in the first place,
DarkRoom. Also, yes, I know there's a Chrome extension called WriteSpace
as well as a Word add-in called WriteSpace. Those aren't mine, and I
don't particularly care for them. Use my program. Heheh.

Anyway, the reason I'm mentioning this is because I was getting annoyed
that I didn't have any way to view Putty in fullscreen on my computer
without *actually* maintaining an 80x24 window. Well, it turns out
OverScaner actually allows me to do this. I just removed the scrollbar
and upped the font size and voila! I have SDF right here where I want it
to be. Now all I need to add in is a clock.

Anyway, that's all for now. I'm going to try and sleep a few hours before
I have class in the morning. I should probably also wash my clothes. Oh
well.

Goodnight, everyone! I hope to be talking to some of you again soon in
COM. I miss my Wasabi nights. Bye!
