I had a very particular type of mathematical education at university.
It was neither modern pure math like algebraic topology and all that
stuff nor up-to-date applied math like Bayesian inference. The only
place where I felt useful as a mathematician was a Soviet-era
subsidiary of national space agency where I worked about 15 years
ago. Today I tried to live through the difference between simplicial
and cell complexes. And you know what, it was unbelievable:)
