# [2020.04.29] Genealogy in the Era of Internet

Fifteen years ago, when I input my surname in a Russian search
engine, I hardly found anything nontrivial about my relatives. Today
I can look through electronic copies of documents dating up to 1850s
back, and that's incredible. From time to time, my wife and I try to
gather some clues about who our ancestors were. It seems to me that,
after this evening, we have enough to go to some brick and mortar
archives since we finally understood that many family legends about
the beginning of the XX century were utterly false. But at least now
we hold some new threads in our hands.
