# [2018.11.15] The Order

One of my colleagues says that working for a giant corporation
nowadays is similar to serving some order in medieval times. That it
doesn't matter what we really do but the only important thing is the
Monsignor is satisfied with our fidelity to him and the noble
spirituality of the order:) He is joking of course, but his words
are wise. We are a laboratory for some prospective research, we
don't have any specific aim or tangible benefit for the business
yet. When one understands the value of an experimental project, that
means the end of the research in itself and the beginning of
development. It could be hard to get used to for yesterday's
engineer who prefers a crystal clear problem formulation to find a
working and endurable solution to. Well, at least that means more
freedom, although more uncertainty as a downside.
