I was chatting with a friend
and he was complaining about
the job market.
I was surprised to hear him
complain about the state of
the world. I'm in a place where
I feel like I'm creating my
reality and if I complain about
a certain thing, I'm actually
creating the thing that I am
complaining about. Re-inforcing
this reality that isn't useful
for me.
I mentioned it to him.
I told him that he is a powerful
human being (because he is) and
he can create any reality he wants.
He then replied to me 2 facts,
two ideas that I once held as
truth:
I don't want to change reality
as it could makes things worst.
I'd rather simply accept what is.
And this bothered me. Not so
much that he said these things,
but that I thought that they
were somewhat true.
The first statement, is really
self defeating. I don't want to
use the power I have to change
reality, since I might make a
mistake and actually make things
worst for everyone.
The problem is that we are always
influencing reality one way or
another. Sometime in small ways,
I go to the store to buy something,
and sometime in a bigger way,
I wish into reality a certain
event that changes my whole life.
Of course if the second statement
could be true, "I'd rather not
modify reality and simply accept
what is" there would be a way
out. But there is no way one
can not be an active element,
a creative element in a system.
So we are left with, a reality
that we affect, and a power to
affect that reality that grows
as we become more aware and
conscious in this reality. There
is no going back, there is no
turning around and stopping the
effect we have on reality, just
a moving forward.
By denying our own power to
be applied to the creation of
the reality, we are simply
fooling ourselves into thinking
that what is happening in the
reality is not from our own will
but from consciousness itself.
That state of 'non-affecting-reality'
will not happen during our conscious
life. It will only happen when we
end up dissolving into consciousness
itself. And by then we'll have realize
that reality is simply a dream which
stop existing when we awake.
It's similar to being in a dream,
and saying, I will not affect my
dream because I might screw it up.
Well it's a dream to start with,
your own mind is creating that dream,
even if you are thinking you are
letting go of the control of the
dream. What you are actually
saying is more
I will give away my power so that
I can be fooled by my own power,
trying to believe and convince
myself that I am not creating this
reality.
I don't say all that in reaction to
my friend, it's really a reaction to
myself. As I have wanted to withdraw
from manipulating reality, similarly
to someone who has learned to walk,
and try to not walk anymore.
Once you awaken to the power
you have over reality, you can't
go back, you can simply go forward.
Of course you'll mess things up,
of course thing will not be perfect,
but it will definitely be better,
with one awaken soul trying to
make this world a better place.
