This wild wind

We live at the end of the road

Dipping it's head right into the lake
The mountain behind us
create a sharp cliff
making it impractical
to build a road

To reach the next village
one would need
to drive around
by the ferry
A 3-hour journey

Being at the end of the road
Nature prevail
When the winds comes
from the North East
It is a wild one

I can hear it from
such a great distance
It start as a
very faint rumbling
then it builds up

Growing and growing
Pine cones
falling on the roof

Its power is unlimited
Its strength creates fear

I wake up
Will the wind take down my house?
My heart is pounding
The next wind is coming
Sound carry my imagination
I sense the whole mountain
The forest waving and dancing
In the dark of the night

This uncontrollable intensity
reminds me of my own fragility
this simple existence,
this tiny body of mine
easily crushed by the power of nature
All that is important shifts
my life feel insignificant
compared to this wild wind
All the constructs
problems and worries
pale in comparison
to my inability to control the wind

This wild, wild wind...
