Not Crafty
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not crafty.
By this I mean that I'm not really someone who does much in the way
of arts and crafts.
Recently though I've found myself in need to discovering if I have
any untapped potential in this arena.
I recently obtained a drawing tablet (I can't draw either, but thats
a story for another time) and one thing it was missing that I felt
it needed was a stylus holder.
After procrastinating on this problem for over a month, I decided to
do something about it and bought some air-drying clay.
While I had all the will in the world to make some sort of amazing
stylus holder, in the end I simply took a lump of it, jammed the
stylus in to make the appropriate hole and left it on the kitchen
counter to dry for 3 weeks (it turns out air-drying clay can take a
significant amount of time to dry when its not very thin.)
After it finally dried, I've ended up with what looks very much like
a giant ball of white blu-tack, which while servicable for the role
it is intended to take, doesn't look great.
Maybe at some point I'll try to cover it with another (thinner) layer
and maybe fill any gaps and cracks, I've found my enthusiasm for the
whole process to be waning.
Until I regain my enthusiasm I guess I'll just live with a big white
(but functional) lump on my desk.
